WE COMMUNICATIONS BOLSTERS UK HEALTH TEAM WITH FOUR KEY HIRES
RAPID AGENCY GROWTH DRIVES RECRUITMENT
LONDON — April 15, 2019 — WE Communications today announced the appointment of Elizabeth Shearing Green as associate director, health at its UK office. Her hire reflects the increasing momentum in the UK health sector, which has more than doubled its revenue over the past 12 months. Elizabeth is one of four key hires that will take the UK health team from five to nine people.
“Elizabeth’s appointment represents an exciting milestone in our growth as an agency in the health sector,” said Catherine Devaney, deputy managing director and head of health. “Over the past year, we’ve expanded our offering to support clients as they navigate a rapidly changing landscape, where progressive digital solutions and counsel on sustainability, purpose and CSR are critically important. Elizabeth’s consumer health experience is an integral addition to our existing pharma and technology expertise.”
Shearing Green brings more than 16 years’ experience working in consumer health, developing campaigns that both educate and engage consumers and healthcare professionals. She has worked with commercial entities, charities and health bodies on initiatives designed to change consumer behaviour. Her brand experience includes Boots, Piriton, Nytol, NiQuitn, Colgate, Flora pro.activ and more. In her new role, she will work closely with Catherine Devaney to refine the health offer, provide senior counsel to clients and deliver impactful work.
Shearing Green joins other new leaders, including Cecilia Dominici, former head of social media, news and content at Cancer Research UK who joins in June; Gillian Daines, Director, previously a board director at Forster Communications, who started with WE in March and will provide senior counsel to health clients with a CSR and sustainability remit. In May Roi Perez joins the UK team from Porter Novelli as digital content manager. His experience spans social media analytics and influencer-led content production, whilst working across paid/organic social and PPC campaigns.
“I am inspired by the energy, agility and vision of the health offering at WE and the chance to work with such a talented team, makes this an unmissable opportunity,” said Shearing Green.
The growth of the health team signals strong momentum and a commitment from the agency to continue providing clients with outstanding service, following six new business wins in 2018 and two in 2019. Of the rapid growth, Devaney says: “In just over 12 months WE UK has gone from an agency with just two health clients to one that is starting to make its mark on the healthcare industry. Using a data-driven proposition, a combination of genuine in-depth tech and health expertise and an industry-leading people strategy we are successfully attracting both clients and team.”
